There are differences between MacBook Chargers

Firstly, different MacBook comes in various wattages. The MacBook requires a power adapter with the correct wattage. You can easily use a compatible charger with a higher wattage, though it won’t charge your MacBook any faster. If you use a charger with a lower wattage, it won’t provide enough power for your MacBook

Secondly, if your MacBook uses USB-C to charge, you can charge your Mac laptop with any USB-C power charger adapter. For the best charging experience, you should use a power adapter or display that provides at least the minimum wattage of the power adapter included with your MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, or MacBook. Below are different models with different MacBook Chargers.

Check the power or Wattage

To find out how much power a connected power adapter or display provides, look at the certification label on the power adapter or check System Information on your Mac.

  • Look for the certification label on the power adapter which lists the wattage (W):

Find the right specifications on your MacBook. Hold the Option key and choose Apple menu —- > System Information, then select Power. Find the wattage in the AC Charger section towards the bottom, and you will find the right wattage.
